Reflection, Esthetics panels to close out 2018 Annual Meeting
Saturday afternoon’s Closing Symposium promises to herald perhaps the most inventive session ever held by the Academy of Osseointegration (AO) with two panel discussion sessions – a Reflection Panel with the “wise” and Implant Esthetics: 2018.
First, AO president Dr. Michael Norton will host “Controversies in Current Implant Therapy – A Conversation with the Wise!” a Reflection Panel and captivating conversation with some of our most illustrious and wise implant experts. This will include Drs. Tomas Albrektsson, David Cochran, Ole Jensen, Stephen Parel, and Dennis Tarnow.
This unique session, which will not involve lectures at all, will instead provide an opportunity for delegates to listen to some of the world’s most experienced and wisest clinicians in the field of implant dentistry give their views on current hot topics such a peri-implantitis, primary stability and immediate loading. The Reflection Panel’s conversational format will allow challenging and often probing questions to be posed to each of the panel members to tease out their views and debate their differences of opinion.
Following the Reflection Panel, 2018 Program Committee Chair Dr. Joseph Kan will moderate three experts during the “Implant Esthetics: 2018” panel who will discuss how to optimize implant esthetics using the latest methodologies and philosophies. Featuring Drs. Stephen Chu, Giovanni Zucchelli, and István Urbán, topics will include “Prosthetic Contouring,” “Soft Tissue Grafts,” and “Guided Bone Regeneration,” respectively. Each presentation will take the approach of discussing what works and what doesn’t work in their respective topical areas.
AO thanks its 2018 Annual Meeting attendees for your participation at “Inspiring Imagination – Enhancing Health.” We sincerely hope you have enjoyed and been inspired by our thrilling new format aimed at maximizing audience engagement. Be sure to close out your 2018 Annual Meeting experience by joining your dental colleagues from around the globe for the Closing Symposium. It will be held today from 2:00 – 5:30 pm in West Hall B.
